I wouldn't recommend this school a bit. They staff and most of the students are very snobby and the classes are challenging. In a normal high school, an AP class is easier than an average class at Ridgeview. They don't give the students an option on the classes they could take. I spent a single year at RCS. And in that year, they screwed up my GPA for the rest of my high school career from the hard classes and lack of help or in-school tutors. They also obsess over their version of creating the perfect man (or woman) by holding assemblies and literally brainwashing the kids with that info, the strict ground rules and dress code, and the classes. All of those things can be lethal to the average student from elementary school to high school. On a scale from 1 to 5 (5 being the best), I would give RCS a 0. I know that's technically not on the scale, but the school is so bad that it doesn't deserve a spot on the scale. Military school would be a better choice for your child(ren).

We regret sending our kids to this school. Teachers do NOT care students academic performance. In many occasions they enjoy fail students with their grades without giving them a chance to make it up. For example my kid had to miss a few days of classes because of a state sport event. My wife called the office and asked the teacher to leave homework in the office. The office lady did call the classroom teacher about leaving homework in the front office, yet we got none. Weeks later on the grade report my kid got a big F. When talking to the teacher we were told our kid didn't turn in homework. And he refused to give us the homework to make it up.
Also there is a strong discrimination going around. Eg on Martin Luthur King day all public school observe it, bur Ridgeview doesn't. Kids were not even told what this official holiday is all about. There are many more I can write about this school's problems. But in a word I will definitely look for a different school for my child next semester. If your kids want to go to some good universities, don't come to this one because if they give you 3.1 GPA, you are very lucky. I knew some kids get 3.9 and 4 after they transfer to a different school and some get 2100 on SAT or higher.

The teachers in this school are not qualified.The parking lot is also the 'track and field' for the PE class,it is so dangerous when the kids running while the cars moving in and out!

This is a flat Earth school when it comes to education. The teachers and administration don't have any regard for research on education or cognitive development. They arrogantly know better! Even the elementary children have tons of homework every night and they keep the kids in for recess to complete schoolwork. Children get a demerit of their "character" that the parents have to sign for things like the parents forgetting to sign their (lengthy) daily homework agenda. Or heaven forbid your child forgets to bring a homework task home. You will have to sign a "punch card". Don't be fooled by their propaganda. The children who succeed in such a negative environment with curriculum appropriate for much older children would succeed anywhere.
