- Arctic Light Elementary proudly serves the families of the Fort Wainwright army community. Our school wide Title I reading program is based on an approach to reading improvement which incorporates an engaging, academically challenging reading curriculum for all students and is based on guided reading strategies. Students who need extra help in reading receive tutoring through the district s very successful ERII program. Every one of our staff members is highly qualified by federal standards. We use both Kagan and Project CRISS cooperative learning strategies in our classrooms to help children increase their comprehensive in content subject areas. The mission of all our programs is to facilitate the growth of students into knowledgeable, self-sufficient, caring citizens.
